For those who use Lorem Ipsum as much as I do, then you might start getting sick of the same ol’ place holder text over and over again.

But wait! There’s hope! Lorem Ipscream takes the everyday boring Lorem Ipsum and gives it flavor! The downfall seems to be they don’t give you enough text to play with.

The other option I have found worthwhile mentioning is Blind Text Generator. Different types, you can set column width, number of words/characters/paragraphs, font styles (font family, leading, kerning, etc) and it’ll even wrap the paragraphs in p tags for you and generate the styles!

I know you’re probably thinking, is this news? And considering this is my first post for the company, it’s not going to look good… But there we go, it’s something small yet neat to get me started.

Also, google have kindly implemented another feature allowing us to see both the published time/date of a post and the time/date is was received.

Scobleizer who more often than not, I do agree with has given the Kindle a slamming. The recently heated commentator has launched a scathing attack on Amazon, Jeff Bezos and more specifically “the designers”.

So here we are, 26th October that is… We’ve waited for this for a long, long time. Unless you’ve been locked up, everyone should know what I’m talking about. Before I do, let me make it clear that i’m using a white macbook. I say this because it has been pointed out to me that there some substantial differences between using Leopard on a macbook compared to say, an imac. BIG is generally better people. Ok, let’s make a start.

The Box

I received the package this afternoon with freshly brewed Mac OS X Leopard. Fresh and hot Leo blew a breeze of innovation and progress towards my nostrils. The box itself is a small, cd album sized package. It contains 1 dvd, a manual (more a “show-off booklet”) and of course 2 Apple stickers. Nothing impressive? Take a closer look at the box. It has this holographic effect mirrored around the huge familiar “X”. Amazing effect.

We came across an of the Simpsons CD case for their movie on the web - and what a great job their design team did with this. No, they didn’t need to create the characters or even any of the jokes - but to implement the whole packaging with this level of detail and an ingenious idea…they deserve all the attention they can get.
